Sand Casting The Sand Casting process is the simplest and most versatile of all aluminum casting processes. Sand molds are generally easy to make (binding sand grains together, using chemically bonded sand or "green sand") and modified. Aluminum sand castings can vary from a few ounces to several hundred pounds.
